Zibari, Hoshyar

Zibari, Hoshyar
(1953- )
   Zibari is a longtime member of the politburo of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and was often the major spokesman for the KDP on foreign affairs. He is the uncle of Massoud Barzani, the leader of the KDP, and also speaks excellent English, as he holds a masters degree in sociology from the University of Essex in Great Britain. During the 1990s, he represented the KDP in Great Britain. Since September 2003, he has been serving as Iraq's foreign minister, first on an interim basis and since May 2006 in a permanent capacity.
